It should be a great year for splashing and giggling.
Snowpacks that provided great skiing this winter and spring are beginning to go through Mother Nature's version of recycling.
And that's great news for whitewater boating enthusiasts, as several of the state's best boating adventures are powered by snowmelt (as opposed to releases from dams).
For example, the Northwest River Forecast Center last week predicted that runoff in the Owyhee River this year will be 183 percent of the 30-year average.
