09 MAY 2006 PORT MORESBY (Pacnews) - The Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative, set up by former president of the United States Bill Clinton has recently extended its help to Papua New Guinea.

This is the result of a request from former South Africa president Nelson Mandela, Post Courier reports.

The first part of its assistance has come in the form of cheaper drugs for HIV treatment, which their staffs have negotiated, and are being given to HIV patients at the Port Moresby General Hospital.
