May 9--The foundation of an old cavalry barracks recently uncovered near City Hall could be incorporated into Santa Fe's civic center, says an architect working on the project. "These ruins could very well provide that entree into the whole archaeology -- the fact that that site has been occupied for hundreds of years," Beverley Spears said. Last year, a panel chose an initial civic-center design by Spears Architects of Santa Fe and Fentress Bradburn Architects of Denver that proposed including some exposed archaeology at the downtown site.
