Pressure for estate agents to be licensed has been stepped up with the revelation that they are among the three least trusted groups of professionals to be left alone in people's homes.

Research from More Than shows 18% of people do not trust estate agents alone in their homes and 69% feel uncomfortable about estate agents showing potential buyers around their homes when they are not present.

As a result, 51% try to ensure they are at home during viewings but 18% are too busy to take time out of their schedules to do this.
