May 9--Partners Dave Bois and Scott Mendenhall are retracing their corporate roots to make a new brand of bakeware.
They began their housewares industry careers in 1982 at Salina with REMA Bakeware. Now owners of the Heartland Bakeware Co., Kansas City, Mo., Bois and Mendenhall are returning to Salina to manufacture the AireGourmet Insulated Baking Sheet.
Bois and Mendenhall could not be reached for comment Monday.
The AireGourmet features two sheets of aluminum separated by an insulating layer of air, which prevents overbaking and burning of baked goods, according to a company press release.
