On Friday, Rolling Stone rolled out its fancy-schmancy 3-D cover to celebrate its 1,000th issue, which seems like the 500th issue that has celebrated Rolling Stone.
Because the venerable magazine may love rock 'n' roll, popular culture and gonzo journalism, but most of all, Rolling Stone loves itself.
This isn't the spot to regurgitate the history of Rolling Stone beyond its founding in 1967 as a true symbol of the counterculture, its use of iconic covers, its famous writers and its rise to become a media empire.
