May 10--A bill that would give health insurance to young adults who reach adulthood without being adopted is headed for the governor's desk. At the end of the legislative session Friday, the House and Senate agreed on a measure that will expand Medicaid coverage to 18- and 19-year-old former foster children for the first time. If Gov. Jeb Bush signs it, those teens will get help paying for their medical needs come July 1. "When they're 17 years, 363 days old, these kids are on four psychotropic drugs and seeing a therapist to get through.
