May 12--It might be easy to snicker at the seemingly farfetched quest to turn the lakeside city of Sheboygan into a space-travel hub, but the idea has quietly picked up some serious legislative thrust.
Last month Gov. Jim Doyle signed into law Wisconsin Act 335, which creates the Wisconsin Aerospace Authority, a quasi-public body that has been given the bold mission to, among other things, "build and develop a spaceport in Sheboygan," according to bill sponsor Sen.
