After 92 years of innovation, passion and commitment to his family, business, industry and community, Robert E. Rich, founder and chairman of Rich Products Corp., passed away on February 15, 2006, at his home in Palm Beach, Fla. He was 92. At a time when the 1945 War Food Administration was diverting milk to the troops, Rich developed Rich's Whipped Topping, a stable frozen whipped cream replacement made from soybeans. Rich Products soon grew as the topping became popular with school foodservice operations, restaurants, supermarket bakeries and other venues.
