May 12--The Duluth News Tribune gathered 17 awards in the 2005 Minnesota Associated Press Association news, design and editing and sports contests.
The Associated Press released the final list of winners in the contest Thursday. Newspapers compete in one of three categories: less than 20,000 in circulation, more than 20,000 and metro newspaper. The News Tribune competed in the more than 20,000 circulation category.
The News Tribune received the following awards: In the feature writing category, Janna Goerdt took first place for "End of an era." Mark Stodghill placed third for "Fear of fiction."
