May 12--With her booming voice as powerful as her message, the small, bespectacled activist professed her commitment to improving the rights of laborers.
"I participated in every major strike in the United States. I didn't have a permanent address for 50 years," bellowed 14-year-old Aspen Williams, as she portrayed Mary Harris "Mother" Jones, the colorful, forceful figure in the American labor movement. "I was strong, fearless, bold and unconquerable."
