May 12--If you want to know why Philadelphia will not land the 2016 Olympics, all you had to do was gaze at Page 1 of yesterday's Inquirer.
For more than a decade, we've been fighting bitterly about whether to move one of the world's greatest art collections (the Barnes Foundation's) to one of the world's greatest urban thoroughfares (the Parkway).
But one word from the Fairmount Park Arts Commission and a kitschy statue of a fictional boxer (Rocky) gets transplanted there.
