May 12--POST PROFIT OFF 53 PERCENT: Post Publishing Plc, the publisher of the Bangkok Post and Post Today dailies, reported first-quarter profits of 20.19 million baht, down from 43 million in the same period last year.

Earnings per share declined to 0.04 baht from 0.09 baht a year earlier.

First-quarter revenues fell six million baht, or 1.3 percent, from the year before due to economic and political uncertainty, rising interest rates and oil prices. Newspaper sales, however, rose by 10 million baht year-on-year.
