May 13--Jeff Kent said he has read only one book cover-to-cover this year. And it was "Game of Shadows," the book that presents a damning examination of Barry Bonds and steroid use. "It was a book to read, I guess," the former Giant said before Friday's game. Did it make Kent concerned over the state of his game? "I was concerned before I read the book," said Kent, the Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman. "It's been a concern since I was a major league baseball player."
Kent said he was pleased about the new testing policy in baseball.
