May 15--Frank Viola's dad -- Frank Sr. -- is a baseball guy. Not so much a professor of the game but an admirer of it. The younger Viola remembers growing up on Long Island, where his father rooted hard first for the New York Giants and later the New York Mets.
"Dad was a great fan of the game, but he wasn't the greatest baseball player," Viola said. "But he loved and enjoyed the game, and that's how the love came for me because of watching my dad."
Today, as the baseball coach at Lake Highland Prep, the younger Viola is doing something he says he loves as much as the highlights from his 15-year career in Major League ...
