May 15--STAMFORD -- The son of a former mayor plans to challenge incumbent Andrew McDonald for state Senate. Rick Giordano, 51, son of Bruno Giordano, is seeking the Republican Town Committee's nomination to run for the 27th Senate District representing Stamford and Darien.
"Some people were encouraging me to run for the U.S. Senate, but I think this gives me the opportunity to start where my heart is, and that's in Stamford," Giordano said. "It'll be coming back home."
