May 15--A few months ago, when the rash of stolen copper and thefts of precious metal was on the rise, Albert and Jennifer Dionisio were losing about $1,500 a week.
This was when their business, Dionisio Iron and Metal Co., was located in Salt Creek.
"It got so bad at the end (thieves) would cut the lock to our gate, drive their vehicles in and load up," Albert Dionisio said this week.
Police have made arrests since that time, from a group of high school students looking for a couple of extra bucks to transients. But police said they are still investigating at least 20 active cases involving theft of precious ...
