May 15--Saving here and saving there is paying off big for Chattanooga Lookouts closer David Shafer. Shafer has amassed 12 saves already this season and has a 1.98 earned run average. He is on pace to compile 44 saves, which would surpass the Southern League singleseason record of 36. "I don't really look at the numbers," Shafer said. "I just hope to stay healthy and help the team. The biggest thing is having the opportunity. The team is winning, which is great, and we're in every ballgame."
