IT'S Breast-feeding Awareness Week . . . so why do only one in three Scots mums breast-feed?
In hospital five days after the twins were born, I was struggling.
Every shift, a different midwife offered different advice.
Then another midwife appeared at my bedside, questionnaire in hand, required to ensure the hospital kept its official accreditation for Breast-feeding Excellence.
Parrot-like, I spouted all the answers about breast-feeding, but I could not do it. A case of "ticking boxes" gone mad.
