An exhibit at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology focuses on linen and its uses, from the Stone Age to New Age
Linen, the oldest testile in the world, is finally getting its due. Used as far back as the Stone Age, the material that has wrapped up Egyptian mummies and been transformed into house-hold linens, bandages and firehoses as well as couture garments is being celebrated in a show at the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology, November 2 to January 15. The show is being sponsored by International Linen Promotion.
