Chevron said Friday that it has been awarded equity in eight exploration blocks in the UK North Sea. According to the US major, it received licenses for part or all of blocks 205/2, 212/30, 213/16 and 213/17, all of which are located near the recent significant Rosebank/Locknagar offshore discovery. Chevron will operate the blocks and holds 40% along with Statoil (30%), OMV (20%) and Dong (10%).
