May 17--A flap over 20 or more dead pigeons littering the Ector County Courthouse lawn has one attorney fighting mad and a health official seeking the cause of their deaths.

Odessa lawyer Michael McLeaish said Tuesday he had seen about 20 dead pigeons at the courthouse during the past two weeks.

At first he said he believed Ector County employees were poisoning the birds. Later Tuesday, however, McLeaish said he had learned the county is not poisoning the pigeons which, strangely, are mainly showing up dead on the east side of the courthouse.
