We both really enjoyed Kate's Lacey's article, "5 Reasons to Unplug" (Vol. 15, #5). We had a good laugh because we've both run into (and dated) the specific types of insane dykes you've mentioned! However, as a committed lesbian couple who met online, we don't agree with the assumption in the article that lesbians will only find disappointment and deceit if they choose to date online. The two of us found exactly what we were looking for on the Internet, and we found each other to be even more impressive in person. Happy online dating experiences with sane, decent people can happen.
