May 18--It's that dreaded time of year again. The watery eyes, itchy throat and runny nose are back. And allergy sufferers are feeling the pain.
Allergy season has arrived in full force in the High Desert, according to experts, and it could be several weeks before there is a significant improvement.
Mary Ann Salyards, a herbology teacher at Victor Valley Community College, said the heavy rains last month and the recent bright sunshine have been ideal for blooming plants. With all this beautiful greenery comes pollen, which is spread by the desert winds.
