Coxlodge & Gosforth cue star Ian Kirkup booked a place in the final of the National CIU Individual Snooker Championship with an impressive 4-3 victory over Leeds' former professional Peter Lines at Chilton & Windlestone WMC.
The match started with a tense bout of safety play, but it was Kirkup who opened the scoring by potting brown-blue-pink to clinch the first set 49-35.
Lines rallied strongly to take the next two frames 57-13 73-17, the second with small runs of 18 (2) and 15 and the third with a well-compiled half-century.
A 39 gave the Yorkshireman an early lead ...
