May 21--Judging by the items on display, word of a community tag sale triggers different responses among donors:
1) Great. Someone else can use this stuff.
2) Great. I can get rid of this crap.
3) Parting with "Travis the Singing Trout" and my 23-piece Kitchen Kaddy will hurt, but it's for a good cause.
Filtering the junk from the saleable items is just part of the monumental task of putting together townwide and multitown tag sales. But organizers say the events ultimately pay off for various nonprofit causes - and the volunteers get some fun stories to tell.
