Employees at Baptist Memorial Hospital, a 346-bed, not-for-profit facility in Gadsden, Ala., enjoy a benefit that few other workers in this country do--an on-site child care center open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The Baptist Memorial Hospital Child Development Center is one of only three 24-hour, on-site child care centers in the United States (the other two are in Houston, Texas, and Anchorage, Alaska). The center was designed to meet the child care needs of all hospital employees--whether they work on the first, second, or third shift--by providing a fun, safe, learning environment for children ages 6 weeks through 13 years.
