May 21--A woman arrested in December when authorities said they found her 68 dogs housed in squalid living conditions has pleaded guilty to three counts of misdemeanor animal neglect.
Mary Elizabeth Hamilton, 61, was keeping her 68 Pekingese in a 28-foot travel trailer in Avra Valley. She was issued 128 citations, but an agreement was reached with the Pima County Attorney's Office to reduce the number of counts.
Hamilton is now living in Michigan and entered her plea Friday via telephone. As part of the agreement, she had to pay a $500 fine, complete 100 hours of community service and, for the next 24 months, she is ...
