Milk thistle has been used for centuries in Europe to treat an array of ailments, particularly liver disorders. Numerous reports tout the benefits of milk thistle, but no research conclusively proves these claims. "I don't think everybody should be running out to get milk thistle," said Mandy Leonard, R.Ph., Pharm.D., BCPS, manager of the drug information service at The Cleveland Clinic.
