Electronic bulletin board systems--those grass-roots communities of cyberspace--are quickly gaining access to the Internet's global data highway, letting these communities interact with each other in new and more powerful ways.
Part of the credit goes to BBS software vendors such as ResNova Software of Huntington Beach, Calif., which recently gave Mac users a direct Internet connection with its NovaLink Professional 3.0.
