Core electron microscopy facilities offer users much more than just instrument access for studies, according to cell biologist Christopher Gilpin.
As director of the Molecular and Cellular Imaging Facility at the University of Texas' Southwestern Medical Center, Gilpin has worked to grow microscopy expertise among his users while offering a vital scientific resource for the medical school.
"Primarily, it's a mixture of both medical and biological researchers," Gilpin says of his Dallas, Texas-based facility's users.
