May 22--Patients who seek treatment for chronic sickness and fatigue often turn out to have an undiagnosed underlying illness -- lyme disease -- a local physician says. Dr. Karen Vrchota, a family practitioner at Integrative Health Care of Winona, said she sees lyme disease more often than she would like. "It is a great pretender. It affects every system of the body," Vrchota said. Many chronic illnesses, she said, "are actually from lyme disease."
