What's with the dressed dogs?

In just about every store that I go to now, I am seeing people toting around little dogs in their arms. Most of the time, it seems that these dogs are better dressed than I am!

I was silently dreading the day that the Hollywood fad of the moment - carrying little dogs around in your arms as if they were babies - would make its way to Eugene. Well, it looks like it's here.

When I was a kid, dogs were not wearing clothing or sunglasses or little tiny bathing suits, and they did just fine. Maybe every once in a while we would get wacky and tie a bandanna around Buster's neck, but if ...
