The East Syracuse-Minoa Blue Team defeated Fayetteville-Manlius on a sixth-man tiebreaker to capture the Section III Class A-2 boys golf championship Monday at Thendara Golf Course in Old Forge.
ES-M Blue and F-M were deadlocked at 417 after 18 holes on the par-72 course but ES-M Blue pulled out the win on the tiebreaker. F-M coach Nick Lore said players braved difficult conditions, including snow, wind and rain, to complete the round.
Brett Mattingly of F-M led all players with a 78 and won the individual sectional championship. A.J. Pedone of Whitesboro, who had a 79, was the runner-up. Tom Sullivan was ES-M ...
