It may not have the popular following or star quality of "American Idol," but Salem Communications Corp.'s search for the next big Christian music artist was here first.
The Camarillo-based Christian radio broadcasting company's Salem Music Network and Nashville-based Daywind Music Group have announced their sixth annual search for unsigned Christian music performers, called the "Exalting Him Talent Search."
While lacking the mainstream popularity and runaway ratings success of the Fox Network reality show, last year's contest drew more than 2,000 entries from all over the country.
