USA Network, one of NBC Universal's cable TV networks, is planning to use the Net both as a distribution vehicle for its content and to promote new and existing shows. The network has also entered into a partnership deal with Yahoo. Jeff Zucker, president of NBC Universal Television Group, has promised to create digital packages for all TV series.
The network launched its "CharacterClique" broadband channel on May 11. It features new and exclusive Webonly episodes from "Monk" and "Psych," plus user-generated content. For a week before each episode, USA Network fans will be able to see the opening scenes of a number of popular series on the Net for free.
