DHAKA, May 24 Asia Pulse - Marauders burnt or ransacked at least 62 factories and over 200 vehicles as an industrial riot spread from Savar through the apparel hubs in and around the capital yesterday, in response to the deaths of two garment workers during Monday's export processing zone riots.
At least 10 garment and two other factories were torched and over 50 others damaged during the daylong rampage, official sources said.
Over 200 vehicles were damaged or set alight -- 150 in the Savar and Gazipur areas, over 50 in Pallabi, Mirpur and Kafrul area and eight at a razor blade factory in Tejgaon Industrial area in Dhaka.
