BOOS rang out after the packed and much anticipated first showing of Sofia Coppola's lavishly costumed, fashion-conscious but sometimes rather slowpaced and statically beautiful portrait of the life and times of Marie Antoinette.
Some applauded too, but the general feeling was that the coveted Palme d'Or would probably go elsewhere.
