May 25--A rash of thunderstorms swept through Wisconsin on Wednesday afternoon and evening, producing heavy rainfalls, damaging winds and hail, and spawning at least one tornado. The storms also caused temporary power failures that affected about 5,600 We Energies customers in southeastern Wisconsin. Almost 2 inches of rain fell within a 40-minute period Wednesday evening in some areas of Dane County, where wind gusts of up to 45 mph and localized flooding were reported, the National Weather Service in Sullivan said.
