May 25--Two former officers of the Media Fire, Hook and Ladder Company were charged yesterday with embezzling more than $100,000 from the volunteer organization. John Bonsall, 47, of Brookhaven, the company's former president, withdrew $84,865 from the fire company's bank account for his personal use, according to a complaint presented yesterday to Magisterial District Judge Stephanie Klein. The complaint also alleged that former treasurer Richard Thomas, 62, of Media, misappropriated $21,946 in fire company funds through improper use of credit cards and group health insurance coverage, and reimbursements of undocumented expenses. ...
