BROWNSVILLE -- Military veterans who were discharged after 1975 should be on the lookout for scam artists, Cameron County Veterans Service Officer Salvador Salinas said.
More than 26 million veterans' personal information was on a computer disk stolen from a Department of Veterans Affairs employee's home, Salinas said. The records were those of armed forces members discharged since 1975, he said.
Veterans with any questions may call the Department of Veterans Affairs or their county veterans service officer, Salinas said.
