The crowd in R.F.K. Stadium anxiously scans the sideline. As Washington's D.C. United soccer team takes on the Chicago Fire, excited fans are looking for Freddy Adu (uh-DOO). "Where's Freddy?" they call from their seats.
Finally, 16-year-old Freddy Adu pulls off his warm-up suit. The crowd roars. As Freddy jogs up and down the sideline, waiting to enter the game, the chants grow louder and louder: "Fred-dy, Fred-dy."
Two minutes into his shift, Freddy breaks a move: the step-over. His left foot comes over the top of the ball, then the outside of his foot pushes it in the opposite direction. The Chicago Fire defender stumbles, giving Freddy just enough ...
