May 25--Whip that ugly tarp off your backyard grill. Fire up the charcoal. Marinate the meat.
It's Memorial Day weekend, the second-most-popular time for barbecuing, according to the Hearth, Patio and Barbecue Association, which keeps track of such statistics. Fourth of July weekend is the top dog.
America has a love affair with grilling. Eighty-one percent of U.S. households own a grill. And 96 percent of grill owners have used it in the past year, according to HPBA numbers.
What's changing is the type of grill Americans are buying.
