The Dhaka Courier, May 26 (UNB): Marauders burnt or ransacked at least 62 factories and nearly 200 vehicles as industrial riots spread from Savar through the apparel hubs in and around the capital on 23 May in a bizarre backlash to the previous day's EPZ mayhem that left two garment workers dead.
At least 10 garment and two other factories were set afire and over 50 others damaged during the daylong troubles.
Nearly 200 vehicles were damaged or torched - 150 in Savar and Gazipur areas, over 50 in Pallabi, Mirpur and Kafrul area and eight at a razor blade factory in Tejgaon industrial area in the capital.
