May 26--Whitefish Bay -- A rash of calls to the Police Department reporting peacocks roosting on the roofs was no flight of fancy. Police Chief Bob Jacobs made a visual confirmation this week that seven or eight fully grown peacocks and peahens have taken a shine to the village and much of the rest of the North Shore. "They were flying from house to house on Carlisle Ave.," Jacobs said Thursday. The owners of the exotic birds, Jacobs said, are a mystery. Jacobs said he had heard fellow police chiefs talking recently about pet peafowl that had flown the coop in nearby Fox Point that had led police on a wild goose, er, rather, wild ...
