Inside a warehouse in Orlando, Fla., students in sweat-streaked workout gear assemble in two lines. One by one, in concert with a partner across from them, they start an unspoken dialogue of movement:
They move down the length of the warehouse, entranced by a percussive conga beat, encouraged by classmates' claps, performing push-ups.
Their dialogue complete, they return to the end of their lines, reveling in the rhythm, parroting Portuguese chants rising above the congas:
Capoeira! Capoeira!
Moments later, the lines strut in harmony like the Rockettes, unleashing whizzing windmill kicks.
