May 28--You probably don't have to work Monday because it's the Memorial Day holiday, which is: A. National public-pools-open-everywhere day. B. The official start of the summer vacation season. C. A supersale weekend for car dealers and department stores. D. A federal holiday of remembrance for service members killed in action.
If you didn't answer "D," you're among the majority of Americans lacking a full understanding of why Monday is a national holiday.
