May 28--MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- The Spring Fling may have found a permanent home.
The five-sport championships event was born in Chattanooga, then flung to Memphis for three years to appease the western portion of the state's high schools. But the TSSAA made a sound decision in giving Murfreesboro the chance to host the extravaganza.
Tennessee is the only state in the country that has all its spring state-title tournaments in one metropolitan area, and as debuts go for such tasks, things hardly could have gone better than they did this past week.
