May 29--As commander of the American Legion in Wisconsin, Ted Duckworth worries that many Americans regard Memorial Day as a day set aside for cookouts, afternoon naps, or doing this and that around the yard.
"It just became another Monday holiday to some," said the Vietnam War helicopter gunner, who now works as the veterans' service officer for Juneau County. In the same breath, however, Duckworth sounded more upbeat as he described how his office buys an American flag for every veteran's grave in Juneau County and what would happen if it didn't.
