Julian and Kim Aubanel must be the most altruistic property developers around. Not for them a quick makeover and fast sale - they knew their latest project never had a hope of making a profit. Their motive was far nobler: the preservation of a lavish Pullman railway car that transported the social elite in the late Victorian and Edwardian eras.
Dolphin is an airy, four-bedroom house 450 yards from the sea in Selsey, West Sussex. Its facade consists of a glass-enclosed veranda shielding a 55ft Pullman car, which stretches the width of the house and looks as if it is has just pulled into a station.
